OLAS Guardian Pro
Intelligent Man Overboard Engine Cut-Off System
Ensure maximum safety and freedom on the water with the OLAS Guardian Pro, a cutting-edge man overboard (MOB) engine cut-off system that shuts off your engine instantly if you fall overboard.
No cables. No fuss. Just protection that could save your life and your boat.
The OLAS Tag connects automatically when you step upto the helm position, wirelessly linking with the Guardian Pro hub and the vessels engine cut-off system.
The Guardian Pro makes safety simple. Your vessel will only start when your tag is connected, giving you peace of mind. If you ever need to start without your tag, just press the control switch once to override - safe, easy, and completely under your control.
Engineered for seamless operation and reliability, the Guardian Pro is compact, durable, and built to withstand harsh marine environments, giving you peace of mind on every trip.
FEATURES:
Single Tag Tracking
Purpose:
Avoid interference from other tags nearby — whether on other vessels or worn by crew not currently operating the vessel.
Action:
The first tag that connects to the system is automatically set as the active engine cut-off tag. All other tags in range are ignored.
Setup Time: Automatic
Calibrate Tag Connection Range
Purpose:
Prevent unintended tag connections in environments where multiple vessels and tags are in use.
Action:
Use the Guardian Pro App during setup to manually define the connection range between the tag and hub. For small vessels, limit the range to ~0.5m (e.g., only at the helm); for larger vessels, extend it to 1–2m as needed.
Setup Time: 1 minute
User-Adjustable Cut-Off Sensitivity
Purpose:
Provides flexibility for different vessel sizes and operating environments. High sensitivity is ideal for smaller vessels where tighter proximity to the helm is expected; low sensitivity allows more freedom of movement on larger vessels without triggering an engine cut-off.
Action:
Set the sensitivity level (Low to High) using the Guardian Pro App to define how far the tag can move from the helm before disconnection is triggered.
Setup Time: 30 seconds
User-Adjustable Alert Delay and Engine Cut-Off Warning
Purpose:
Gives users control over how quickly the engine stops after a tag disconnects — especially useful on larger vessels where brief disconnections may occur. The audible pre-warning alerts the operator that an engine cut-off is imminent, giving time to respond.
Action:
Using the Guardian Pro App, set a delay window of 2–10 seconds between tag disconnection and engine cut-off. Within this period, reconnecting the tag or pressing the override button will prevent the engine from stopping.
Setup Time: 30 seconds
Clear Visual Operating Status
Purpose:
Minimise user error by providing an immediate visual reference of system status, ensuring users are always aware if the system is in standby or tracking mode.
Action:
Check the LED indicator: Red means standby, Green means active tracking.
Setup Time: Automatic
Audible Feedback
Purpose:
Deliver assertive confirmation when a tag connects or disconnects, providing audible and tactile reassurance without needing to check a screen or LED.
Action:
When a tag moves into range, the system emits a clear tone to confirm connection and transition from standby to tracking.
Setup Time: Automatic
Quick Helm Swap
Purpose:
Enable fast reassignment of control — useful for crew changeovers, switching operators, or when transferring tags between vessels.
Action:
A single button press reassigns the engine stop function to the tag closest to the hub.
Setup Time: Instant
Zero Knowledge Operation
Purpose:
In an overboard emergency, the system automatically resets to standby so that remaining crew can resume control and carry out a rescue without requiring a new tag or technical knowledge.
Action:
System resets to standby. If another tag is onboard, it will automatically connect and take over engine stop control — no input needed.
Setup Time: Automatic
Operational Freedom
Purpose:
Ensure vessel usability even when the system isn’t actively being used — whether a tag is unavailable or the system isn’t required for a particular operation.
Action:
System remains in standby until a valid tag enters range. Normal vessel operation continues unaffected in the meantime.
Setup Time: Automatic
